Design decisions

Illustrative patterns stylized after each respective book's setting.

Each hand-drawn pattern was created based the after geographical and/or historical contexts of each book's plot. For "Hamlet," the cover design mirrors traditional Danish patterns. Similarly, in the "Macbeth" design, the illustration uses forms from 11th century Scotland. The "Romeo and Juliet" cover incorporates elements of 14th century Italian patterns, and the "Othello" design is reminiscent of historical Venetian forms.
